When comparing November 2007 closed transactions to the booming real estate market of November 2002 in the Lake Winnipesaukee area of New Hampshire, the differences are many.
 
The number of closed transactions is down 26 percent for the month of November. In November 2002 there were 142 transactions compared to that of 105 November 2007. 
 
Averages are way up however.  The average listing price of a single family residence in Belknap and Carroll Counties in New Hampshire is $411,781 compared to $273,764 five years ago.  The average sale price in November 2007 is $379,041 compared to November 2002 when it was $262,243.  … (0 comments)

On November 20th, the Alton Planning Board got their first look at a design for a new 43 lot subdivision. The subdivision would be located on Route 28A with access points off Austin Road and Swan Lake Trail.  The plan calls for a 5000 foot road that will service the 43 single family residences and cover 100 acres.
 
Karen O'Rourke, of Brown Engineering represented Bayview Forest and Development at the meeting.  She stated that the site was primarily chosen because of the views.

On November 13th the Barnstead Board of Selectman met and discussed new building permit fees.  The following fees were proposed, unanimously voted upon and then adopted:
 
New homes (stick built or modular) with 3500 square feet or more will have a building permit fee of $1200.
 
New homes with 3500 square feet and under will have a building permit fee of $800.
 
 
 
Previously, the impact fees for a new home were $800 regardless of size.
 
New mobile homes will be charged $400.
 
Another addition, there is now a $100 fee for enclosed porches, whether new or rebuilt.
