The City of Kissimmee is offering a Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program this summer, for youth going into 9th thru 12th grades.  This training program prepares students to assist the summer camp counselors at Camp Discovery and gain job related experience while earning community service hours. Candidates must submit a completed CIT application along with two references, a school photo, a $25 application fee and undergo an interview process for selection.  Chosen applicants must attend the mandatory training on Tuesday, June 7 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. to be eligible to participate.  Applications will be accepted starting Tuesday, March 1, 2016.  The deadline to apply is Friday, April 15.  Students … (0 comments)

The City of Kissimmee proudly presents its annual Monumental 4th of July Celebration at the Kissimmee Lakefront Park on Saturday, July 4, 2015. Festivities kick off at 5:00 p.m. and culminate with a spectacular fireworks display at approximately 9:10 p.m. over Lake Tohopekaliga.
The celebration will take place throughout the entire Kissimmee Lakefront Park and will feature fun and entertainment for the entire family including live music on stage, a beer garden, and food trucks on the Event Lawn. An interactive KUA Kids’ Power Zone will take place on the Civic Lawn. Admission to the event is free.
