mobile county: Memorial Day - 05/27/07 08:02 AM
Ginnie an Me have traveled to Panama City, Florida for the weekend. A few days off with the family. The wind is cool and the water is fairly calm as we ride around on the Golf Cart. I brought my fishing gear but I have have taken on a Spring cold and feel pretty rotten at the moment. Drugs are wonderful.
Memorial Day is my Grandfather, Peter Cartier, an Infantryman in WW1. I have pictures of him marching through France. I can hear him talking in broken English. My Grandfather was a Frenchman, himself. He died when I was 18 years old. I remember … (1 comments)

mobile county: Where do most of your Inspections come from? - 03/29/07 12:44 PM
In our area, here on the Alabama Gulf Coast, we are diversified in our inspections. New construction is everywhere. We are one of the top two counties in Alabama as far as growth. We are able to do new construction, New to you homes, Rental Investments, Condos and Townhouses.
I feel for the Realtors with so many properties on the market. What kinds of property do you inspect the most and what area of the country do you live.

mobile county: Caught By A Fast Talking Contractor - 03/26/07 08:21 AM
She met at the door. He said he new that he could handle the job. "No problem." The contractor had the right qualifications and he said he carried the right kind of insurance. This guy even belongs to a local Home Builders Association. Mrs. Client was frustration.
I showed up to inspect the contractors work. My 10 year old daughter, Ivy, could have put this guy to shame. Another contractor who makes the rest of us look bad. Mrs. Client had payed the contractor before having the work inspected. Have you seen this before?

mobile county: The Cartier's Meet a President and First Lady - 03/24/07 08:54 AM
Jerome and Ginnie Cartier, of Cartier Fine Home Inspections, LLC, in Daphne,  found themselves in the company of Presidents and First Ladies (former, that is) while working with tornado victims who had gone through devastation from the March 1st tornados that destroyed schools, hospitals, businesses and homes throughout the Southeast.

The couple was working in Americus, Ga. which suffered major damage from the storm and staying in Plains which was 10 miles away.  There was one room left at the Plains Bed and Breakfast which was the closest accommodations to the area they worked.

mobile county: Dear Realtors, How can we help you? - 03/21/07 12:52 AM

A great way to help you sell a good product is to convince the Seller to have a Home Inspection to eliminate the problems ahead of time. Those problems "Will" be found out during a Buyers Inspection. Why not try to "One UP!" the Buyer. What a great tool to have in your Seller's Portfolio. No Surprises. The Buyer will appreciate the fact that the Seller is not trying to hide anything and is being Pro-Active in the process.
There are a lot of Houses for sale. Why not "One UP!" your next client.
