george washington: Washington's Birthday

Did you know that "Washington's Birthday" is the official name designated to what many of us know as President's Day.
This holiday is celebrated each year on the third Monday of February, though it was originally celebrated on Washington’s actual birthday of February 22nd.
It wasn’t until 1976 that Washington’s Birthday was moved to the third Monday of February in an attempt to establish it more along the lines of President’s Day to honor Abraham Lincoln as well. George Washington who was born on Feb. 22nd and Abraham Lincoln born on Feb. 12th.
