Recently, FEMA announced it will review Fishkill flood maps for errors after a backlash from the community in response to their homes being newly designated in a high-risk flood area. The designation means the homeowner would need to obtain Flood Insurance at a possible cost of several thousand dollars at their expense. Many homeowners who have never been in this category before are questioning the new mapping.
