When you were a child I'm sure your mother said to you all the time "Don't count your chickens before they hatch".  I bet you never thought she was teaching you about business at the time!
It seems like in this industry no one can help "counting their chickens".  All the time I hear realtors and loan officers talking about deals like its already done.  We all no until the deal is recorded pretty much anything can happen.  There are so many factors that can push a deal south.  Especially at this time in the month it is really important to … (5 comments)

motivation: What I have learned about business from my 8 month old - 08/10/08 12:49 AM
Watching an 8 month old all day is better than going to any seminar to motivate you to be a better salesperson.  Here's what I've learned from watching my son play and learn:
1. learning things takes time
2. figure things out one step at a time, don't try to do it all at once, take each part one at a time
3. if you know you want something, go for it
4. don't stop trying, you'll get it eventually
5. you don't have to be perfect to get where you want to go

Yesterday there was a post on here by the user maitski about excuses realtors make to avoid being the best they can be.  It had a list of "if only's" and it reminded me of a sermon I heard in church about "the myth of all set". 
The myth of all set goes like this (and I am making this up as I go along but following the jist of the sermons, so hoepfully I get the point accross).
