Yes, it’s funny NOW! But if my memory serves me, it wasn’t so darned funny as it was playing out.
Murphy North Carolina, where we lived at the time, is a quaint small town with a “historical downtown district” full of centuries old buildings. It’s the kind of Mayberry type downtown in which people like to stroll the streets window shopping. Back when we owned our own office, it was situated in a prime location just off the square with huge picture windows. Needless to say we posted all our listings in the windows (10 comments)

Flexible Spending: Stretch Your Tax Refund Dollars If you get a tax refund, what will you do with it? This year, one in two Americans receiving a tax refund (50 percent) say they plan to spend the extra money on bills or other household expenses, as opposed to vacations (15 percent), leisure activities (8 percent) or gifts (4 percent), according to a recent poll from Cricket Communications. The survey also noted that more than three-quarters (78 percent) of Americans receiving their refund will be "smarter" about how they spend it, with more than half (55 percent) pledging they are more likely (1 comments)

As many have seen or heard on the news this weekend a tornado hit Murphy North Carolina in the early evening on Friday, March 2nd.

It takes your food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach. One human hair can support 6.6 pounds. The average man's penis is two times the length of his thumb. Human thighbones are stronger than concrete. A woman's heart beats faster than a man's. There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet. Women blink twice as often as men. Living in a house full of females Bill always slips into a pair of jeans when he gets out of bed in the morning. Typically it’s the pair he wore yesterday that he throws over the foot of the bed at night. This morning he comes to me and asks if I had taken his jeans to put in the laundry. It was VERY cold this weekend and he has this great pair of flannel-lined jeans that he’d worn yesterday. “If I did, they are in the dryer” was my reply so he goes and looks for them. (4 comments)

Athletes know that if they are going to compete in any kind of event they have to train for it. While reading How Running A Marathon Is Like Buying A Home by Bob and Richelle Ward, the post got me thinking. Not only does an athlete have to train, they must also have the proper equipment. The equipment also has to fit them properly and be appropriate for the sport in which they are participating. To put this in simple terms: you can’t play hockey with a baseball bat!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! The Seller said YES! They’ve signed the contract and your agent has forwarded a copy to you. Your next step? Grab a highlighter and your calendar and go
through the contract and any related addenda and highlight any dates by which a specific activity must be completed. Some examples would be your due diligence date and your mortgage contingency date. Some areas may cite the number of days that you have to complete a task instead of a date, highlight these as well.

The real estate “boom” that took place between 2001 and 2006 priced many individuals out of the market for a home purchase. College graduates found themselves heavy in debt with student loans and moved from the campus dorm back into the nest with Mom and Dad. However, the vast majority turned to the next best thing - RENTING.
