treasury: What has changed in the last 2000+ Years?

Everyone is offering a solution for our economy, but this is not the first time no one listened to what we should have done to prevent this catastrophe. What has really changed since the "great depression," or even, since our country was founded? The answer is, "A lot has changed : some for better, but some for worse, it seems."
