With all the Blogs, magazine articles, & heightened interest in Going Green, and the latest controversy on renewable energy I was wondering if anyone had read this and what your thougts were. I think the New York Times columnist author is great .
california: Active Rain or Active Pain??
- 08/18/08 08:29 PM
Alas, all good things must come to an end??? When I joined AR I found so many new and interesting people & topics. But as of late, my enthusiam has waned. First I read the post (forgot the title) criticizing the "Point Pushers" Out for position not content. Complaining about no pictures etc. Then the very next day I read the controversy over "Open letter to AR" & "The Fox in the Henhouse" Another discussion on plagerism. And yet again the Rules & bureaucracy spoil a good thing. What happened to good old fashion fun topics like Legal Aspects of Contracts. (8 comments)
california: Book Club

My Broker & I have a sort of Book Club. We are always looking out for something new, interesting & informative. If they have good reviews or are recommended, we buy them & share them. And I have acquired a wealth of information as well as a arsenal of books. I just read a post with a recommendation for one I missed, which got me to thinking. What a great forum for new suggestions. I would love to hear more. What have you read lately?? (3 comments)
california: Vacant Home Insurance
- 08/14/08 04:27 AM
I read this on another blog & the information was appreciated because Insurance is not something that always comes up in general conversation with a client except that it is required for financing & what it will cost with their payment . Most homeowner's insurance policies contain vacancy clauses allowing the insurer to cancel some coverages if the home is vacant for more than 30 or 60 days. The reason is a vacant house is more likely to sustain water damage and vandalism. A warning to homeowners to read their insurance policies and not leave their homes vacant for more than 30 or 60 (1 comments)

california: The Importance of Education & Designations
- 08/07/08 02:36 PM
I think we can all agree that there is no substitute for a good Education. Not just in Real Estate, but in Life. I work for an independent Brokerage, because I do not feel that Bigger is necessarily better. McDonalds may sell the most hamburgers, & why? Its fast & cheap. I opted for quality over quantity. Now before the hoards of comments come on the attributes on your company. I am strickly speaking from my personal preference. There are obviously pros & cons on both sides. But One thing that has been stressed by my Brokerage more than Listings! Buyers! & Sellers! (11 comments)
