I am looking for suggestions on a problem. I am interested in persuing a recently expired $700K listing. The problem is: On the cul se sac the home is located on is a "Drummer Boy" I assume it is a boy, but whoever it is has there daily Drummer practice for an hour or so, sometimes more than once a day. The drumming is so loud you can hear it clearly a block away. Its no wonder the house has not sold. I spoke to one neighbor who seams resigned to the "problem". If you have seen John Stossels program on 20/20, I wish he would include this. I am so tired of hearing all the hearts & flowers victim storys. Didn't anyone ever hear the saying about "Saving for a rainy day!" I guess I am annoyed because I have always done this. But I haven't heard any mention of the responsible citizens who are not expecting a government hand out but are expected to share the burden for the irresponsible. Gramps Jailed for Snubbing Lawn Care Order A 66-year-old grandfather in Bayonet Point, Fla., is doing jail time because he couldn’t afford to replace the sod on his lawn in his deed-restricted community after his sprinkler system failed. Color me surprised! I called an agent at a Real Estate office. The phone was answered: Real Estate ofc. or hello, I don't remember. I said: Hi, Who's this? I usually get a receptionist, who gives their name & I say: Hi, Mary, This is Claudia from Signature Homes & Estates.............................. But to my surprise, the response was, "WHO'S THIS??" What a totally strange response for an office. Maybe they were working from home, but even when I receive home calls, I treat them like business, with "Hi: This is Claudia"

Why am I sitting home on a Friday night reading 200 pages of HOA Docs??? And on the other hand, Why are the HOA Docs 200+ pages? Ridiculous, If these could be standardized, I wouldn't be here tonight. Does anyone have any tips on how you get through these without falling asleep? REO + HOA = Nightmare!!

After reading a recent blog about doorknocking in the neighborhood, I thought I would share my version of doorknocking. Due to my own personal safety issues, I prefer to do my doorknocking in the downtown shopping area. This is not the local Taco Bell & Walmart. This is a smaller town with art stores, boutiques, etc. So they cannot slam a door in your face! But why you are looking at everything, someone always comes up to ask you if they can help you. Bingo! That is my question. I have found that why taking extra time & money, I prefer to preview listings before showing propertys to clients. Some agents I have talked to say they never preview propertys. I always try to keep up with inventory, but you can't see everything. So after showing a vacant home & finding a "unauthorized" person inside, it was a little scary & embarrasing. Kinda makes me think of the ballgame or the Circus. After reading the post on "When is a featured post or not" & seeing (at last count) 41 comments. Again they all came down to How to get How Many POINTS! It reminded me of my first RE class. It was all Greek to me so I was just anxious to learn the "new" language & vocabulary, the LAW, Contracts etc. While the vast majority were more interested in COMMISSIONS. Alas, all good things must come to an end??? When I joined AR I found so many new and interesting people & topics. But as of late, my enthusiam has waned. First I read the post (forgot the title) criticizing the "Point Pushers" Out for position not content. Complaining about no pictures etc. Then the very next day I read the controversy over "Open letter to AR" & "The Fox in the Henhouse" Another discussion on plagerism. And yet again the Rules & bureaucracy spoil a good thing. What happened to good old fashion fun topics like Legal Aspects of Contracts. … (8 comments)
