Detroit ranked most dangerous city A controversial report has ranked Detroit as the most dangerous U.S. city. It also ranked Coral Springs in Broward County as the 17th safest city. In another blow to the Motor City's tarnished image, Detroit pushed past St. Louis to become the nation's most dangerous city, according to a private research group's controversial analysis, released Sunday, of annual FBI crime statistics. In Florida, Coral Springs in Broward County was ranked 17th among the top 25 safest cities while Orlando was ranked the 11th most dangerous in the nation.
