This is encouraging news reported today by RISMEDIA - ...The Pending Home Sales Index, a forward-looking indicator based on contracts signed in October, increased 3.7% to 114.1 from 110.0 in September, and is 31.8% above October 2008 when it was 86.6. national association of realtors: NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS(NAR) INVESTS IN DOCUSIGN - 11/16/09 09:39 AM
With more than 18,000 real estate professionals using DocuSign to accelerate their business, and with thousands more subscribing each month is it any wonder that NAR would want to invest in this technology?
Rather than driving across town to get a signature or forcing their clients to find a fax machine, real estate professionals use DocuSign to execute agreements with buyers and sellers electronically, eliminating the old process of printing, faxing, and waiting for the return fax. It has been stated that DocuSign real estate professional subscribers achieve higher sales, increase client satisfaction and maintain a competitive edge. Safe and secure, the … (3 comments)

national association of realtors: LUXURY HOMEOWNERS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO SHORT SALES - 10/20/09 10:31 AM
Stats are finally supporting what we Realtors have been experiencing in the field -- the current housing crunch is affecting the luxury housing market.
Tougher mortgage/loan requirements and higher interest rates for jumbo loans than for conforming loans caused sales of luxury properties to slow starting in the fourth quarter of last year and the trend has continued into 2009. As a result, the national inventory level of homes priced above $750,000 rose from 18 months worth in 2007 to 41 months worth by this past summer. The National Association of Realtors also reported that as of October 2008, the foreclosure rate on jumbo loans was … (2 comments)

national association of realtors: "GREEN" REALTOR - 04/23/09 09:14 AM
Well I have completed the 3 days of training and passage of the 2 exams required to have the National Association of Realtors (NAR) give me the "green light" to call myself a "GREEN" Realtor.  Now I am anxiously awaiting the NAR Green Designation Member Kit which should arrive in 3-4 weeks.  The Green REsource Council of NAR provides oversight re this designation as well as provides the tools to help the "GREEN" team become suitable ambassadors of the movement toward sustainable homes and communities.  Next steps - contribute to a better quality of life for future generations.
