Last night a fellow entrepreneur posted a very upsetting post. She went on to say how she was done with fakes, cheats, liars, and so on and so on. This was no ordinary rant, it smelled of an entrepreneur scorned. Unfortunately, it left far too much to the imagination and was not a very savvy business move. We've all been there, frustrated by someone's ingenuity and false promise. When I read her post I was quick to think of 3 different situations where someone befriended me to steal an idea or get free information on the pretense of leveraging my services. We do Ask The Expert calls every week. Our standard number of impressions is somewhere around 10,000 business owners each week. An amazing thing happened the day we hosted an Ask The Expert call about women in business and the challenges they face- we had over 1.5M impressions.
What does that tell us?
As a female entrepreneur, there are definitely things that I notice a difference to me from my peers. In the corporate environment they were absolute differences between how the men that reported to me led and responded to information, and how their female peers did.

Who do you call when sales slump? How about when new competition comes into the market and you need a full court press? And when you're overwhelmed by the sheer amount of marketing you believe you need to be doing? I would venture to say there are more marketing agencies than restaurants in your town. Fear alone helped half of them open and tired and confused business owners inspired the rest. So how do you know you're getting scammed? How do you choose between your plethora of choices?
