business growth: Here We Go Again! - 12/16/16 06:28 AM
Doesn't it feel like just yesterday we were saying it was too hot as the summer beat down on us? Maybe it was a week ago that we were excited to see the flowers blooming as Spring started? It couldn't have been that long ago that we just celebrated the new year and yet here it is again. Before we know it, this new year ahead of us will have come and gone.
What can we do differently this time to make the next year even better than this one? Review it!

Most of the time we just press forward thinking that we can and … (3 comments)

business growth: Lead with Revenue....It's not just a business lesson - 11/14/16 02:00 AM
From decorations in the stores to the red cups at Starbucks and everything pumpkin spiced, we know that holiday season is here. The holidays bring so many emotions from joy to happiness to a childlike glee and yes, sadly to stress.
What brings the stress the most? The financial commitment that the holidays can become. From travel to gifts to donations to more gifts to tables full of food and to even more gifts it is easy to turn a wonderful time into one that brings worry.
We have been hearing the lesson of LEAD WITH REVENUE for years in the business world and it should … (1 comments)

business growth: Lessons for the Season - 10/19/16 12:55 AM
It's my favorite time of the year! There are so many lessons to be harvested during the month of October. Here are 3 of my favorite lessons, 2 from the world of sports and one from your own kids.
1)Baseball playoffs are happening! The teams that are still battling it out remind us that you have to FINISH STRONG and no matter what challenge is in front of you, find a solution. It doesn't matter if it is the middle of the game, bring in your best pitcher if it gives you the best chance to win! It is win or go … (1 comments)

business growth: In Like a Lion... - 03/30/16 01:46 AM
Maybe you have heard the saying "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb?"
What does that saying mean? The official answer, it is referring to the weather and how March usually starts cold and windy and ends with spring all around us as the weather gets warmer.
One thing that I hope is that this saying never applies to you. This saying should never apply to your business life or your personal life. Please do not let a month come in like a lion and go out like a lamb. Instead let's always be working to make sure that your month starts with a … (24 comments)

business growth: Halloween, the scariest day of the year - 10/01/15 12:28 AM
For years now Halloween has been the scariest day of the year in my opinion. What is it that makes it so scary?
It isn't the adorable kids dressed as spooky ghosts and other things that go bump in the night. It isn't the calories waiting to get us in the bag of goodies that our children bring home and we raid while they sleep. It isn't the giant spider decorations people put on their homes. (ok this one might scare me, although it isn't the main reason)

The thing that scares me the most about Halloween is that it is … (1 comments)

business growth: To-do lists. Do they help? - 05/27/15 12:12 AM
You wake up to start the day and your mind naturally starts putting together a to-do list right away.
Get breakfast made Feed the pet Workout Prep lunch Answer emails Check what's happening on Facebook Put gas in the car The morning list then goes on and on and on and on. You haven't even gotten to start your work day yet and create that to-do list!
The question we ask, is it good to have a to-do list? Does that help you figure what needs to be done and get through your day?
OR
Does the to-do list slow you down? Does it have you focusing … (9 comments)

business growth: Overcome a Large Challenge by Making it Small - 05/07/15 12:59 AM
Have you ever found yourself facing a large challenge and not even sure where to start?
Have your taxes piled up and it is April 13th? Have you looked up at your annual goal and realized it is already summer and the year is half over? Have you opened your computer to too many emails to even know where to start your day?  "When eating an elephant take one bite at a time." - Creighton AbramsMost of us have heard Mr Abrams' quote, although it doesn't solve the question of which part of the elephant should we bite first?
The answer to that question is one … (2 comments)

business growth: E.F.G. - 11/03/14 09:46 PM
You may have heard the term A.B.C. at some point. Most people hear A.B.C. and they start to sing the alphabet song. To those in sales A.B.C. means something very different. Salespeople most likely hear the voice of Alec Baldwin as Blake in the movie Glengarry Glen Ross reminding the other salesmen in the room to Always Be Closing. Today it is finally time to move farther down in the alphabet and instead of always thinking closing, closing, closing, how about we focus on E.F.G. and how you Execute Future Goals.
Many people miss the opportunity to set goals because they feel they will be disappointed if they set them and don't reach them. The disappointment … (28 comments)
