growth: Who Are Your 5? - 03/01/17 05:18 AM
Author, motivational speaker and entrepreneur Jim Rohn is known for many great sayings such as:
Never wish life were easier, wish that you were better.
You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.
Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion.
And then there was this one:
You're the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
Now for the big question, who are those people?
My dad was either a big fan of Jim Rohn or he understood this lesson at a high level from somewhere in life. Because when I was in grade 10 I spent my time … (3 comments)

growth: Let me introduce you, to you! - 02/22/17 08:12 AM
After spending a week at Keller Williams Family Reunion this past week there were many AHA's that were being shared. One of them kept being repeated and stood out to me was that you are only 5 years from being whomever you want to be. What great news!
Let me share with you what that can look like as we go back in time together and I share my story. Let's go back 6 years. I know I said 5 years, let's look at the 5 year gap from 2011-2016 to see what can be done.
I share with you my story as … (41 comments)

growth: Look in the mirror - 05/10/16 04:23 AM
Isn't it interesting how your reticular activating system can really kick in on certain things.
Maybe you are looking at buying a car, and you start to see the type of car you are thinking about purchasing everywhere. Maybe you are about to get married and all of a sudden it seems like everyone around you is getting married. Maybe you hear an amazing piece of advice and it keeps showing up everywhere you look. I found myself in just that situation recently and I wanted to share this advice that kept popping up in my world with each of you.

growth: Have a Masters Mindset - 04/11/16 02:04 AM
For one weekend every year the eyes of the sporting world are looking at Augusta, Georgia. This year was no different and it is one that will be remembered thanks to a little history made at The Masters. Here's the best part, you can decide which way you will remember this weekend. Here's what happened... Jordan Spieth collapsed on the 12th hole of the final round of the Masters. He only had 8 holes left in the biggest golf tournament. He had a 5 stroke lead and looked like there was nothing that was going to stop him from winning the event. Jordan, at 22 years of age, is … (1 comments)

growth: What is a Leader? - 12/18/15 02:46 AM
There I was sitting in a room with people with the title of leader. These leaders are getting ready to work with others that also have a title of leader. This made me ask the question, what makes a leader?
Is a leader someone who helps others figure out what to do or figures out what to do and let others witness it? Is a leader someone who goes first or goes last? Is a leader someone who tells others things or listens to others about things? The answer to these questions is a simple one...yes.
A leader helps others figure the path and leads … (24 comments)

growth: Welcome to the Hall of Fame - 11/01/15 11:15 PM
I have been blessed to be able to visit the College Football Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Hockey Hall of Fame and of course in my opinion the hall of all halls...the Baseball Hall of Fame.
One thing is very clear when you enter a Hall of Fame, only the best of the best get to find a space to call their own. As of this year the Pro Football hall of fame only has 295 members and with over a century of baseball and thousands of players only 310 players, coaches and umpires … (3 comments)

growth: Stupid or Smart...You Choose - 08/28/15 12:40 AM
"It takes no more hours in a day to be smart than it does to be stupid!" - Gary Keller This sounds like something my dad would have said to me, and that is just the way that Gary speaks to anyone smart enough to listen! While Gary was hitting us with this powerful statement at Keller William's Mega Camp, what does this really mean? It means that YOU get the choice of how you spend each moment of your life. Even when it feels like you don't have that choice, you still have it! You can choose the positive outlook in a negative situation just as easily as … (1 comments)

growth: 3 Life Lessons in 1 Minute - 06/24/15 05:37 AM
The great news is this posting has 3 powerful life lessons found within it. The not as great news is that it will take longer than 1 minute to read. The 1 minute in the title refers to the amount of time it took to experience and learn these lessons.
There I was working out at Orangetheory Fitness for a 5am session and feeling pretty good. It was an endurance day and our trainer for the morning, Jay, had me on the treadmill to start.
Jay would push all of us on the treadmills to a 3 minute block at a pace that was uncomfortable and then reward … (1 comments)

growth: Playoff Lessons - 06/18/15 12:43 AM
This year the NBA Finals brought me a very powerful AHA that I hope you found as well and it has nothing to do with the basketball.
I am not much of a basketball fan although the competitive nature in me has me interested in championship rounds of almost any sport. The NBA season might be too long, might be filled with interesting stories and might be exciting, although it is only the NBA Finals that gets my attention.
While speaking with a friend during the first 2 games he was convinced that the Cleveland Cavaliers would pull out the win against the … (1 comments)

growth: Binge Business - 04/24/15 12:40 AM
Do you block out the weekend when you hear that the next season of House of Cards, Orange is the New Black or Game of Thrones is going to be released?
Do you get caught up on season after season of Dexter, The Walking Dead, 24, Breaking Bad or any of the other series available on Netflix?
Do you record episodes of your favorite shows and watch a few episodes On Demand when you have the chance to get caught up?
If you do any of these things you are a binge watcher. Welcome to the club!
It might be your desire to know what … (1 comments)

growth: On Pace? - 03/09/15 09:58 PM
3 months down and only 9 to go!
The end of the year always feels far away and then all of a sudden we are looking up and wondering where the time went yet again.
Did you set a goal to start this year? If you didn't how do you know if you are on pace? If you did set  your goal did you remember to set it big enough or did you let yourself off easy?
Take your goal and divide it by 4 because with the end of March comes the end of the 1st quarter. Now the important … (1 comments)

growth: The greatest of all time? - 02/02/15 11:10 PM
In the world of sports there is always the debate of the greatest of all time.
In Football it is often Joe Montana vs Tom Brady vs (insert your choice) In Baseball we hear Babe Ruth vs Ted Williams vs (insert your choice) In Hockey the conversation is Wayne Gretzky vs well, nobody as this one isn't debated that often What about in the world of Basketball?
Would your choice be Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson?
While there are many other players that could and should be added to this debate of best basketball player, for the sake of this blog these are the two … (3 comments)

growth: REALationships - 02/02/15 10:34 PM
Anyone can go to a networking event and walk away with a stack of contacts. Anyone can attend a business function and meet new people. Anyone can fill a database with names. How many of you create REALationships though?
What do your relationships look like? Are they relationships or REALationships?
Would you say that you have a few really close friends and that is the limit of it?
Would you say that you have a lot of great friends?
Would you say that you have many Facebook friends?

From BNI (Business Network International) to Young Professionals and all the networking groups in between there are best practices for networking.

What about those networking opportunities that are not part of a professional organization?
Attending a convention A local chamber event A holiday party A PTA meeting If you are attending any of these opportunities and plan to use them as a networking event here are 4 tips to make the most of … (2 comments)

growth: 7 Ways to Read More Books This Year - 01/11/15 10:04 PM
The new year is upon us and many people make resolutions. Here's hoping you did not as studies have shown us that most of them have sadly failed already.
Instead, during this year just make changes in your habits and your choices.

One of the choices many people make at the start of the year is to read more. Reading is a great way to learn from the masters, escape on a vacation, solve a crime, improve your skills and focus your thoughts.
Here are some suggestions on how you can read more this year...
1)Read in the car.

growth: Follow in the Footsteps of Heroes - 12/04/14 10:19 PM
As the year comes to an end and next year looms over the horizon, this is a chance for many people to reinvent themselves and improve themselves moving forward. There is always something we wish we could do better and now is the time to figure it out.
Pull out a piece of paper and take a moment to write down the names of your heroes. This list could be filled with:
parents or other family members teachers you have had athletes historical figures spiritual leaders others in your chosen professional field My list is a short and simple one that includes … (1 comments)

growth: Start Next Year, Tomorrow! - 10/07/14 04:07 AM
So you want Top 5 things to do to Start Next Year Tomorrow....
1)Look back to look forward Review everything that you did in 2014. If you have no idea, then the first thing you need to do for your new year is set up a tracking system so you don't repeat this challenge again next year.   What did you do this year that worked? Did you have the best success with your sphere?  Was it from farming a neighborhood?  Was it a specific mailer that you sent monthly that brought you the best results? What did you do … (8 comments)

growth: Overnight Success, or is it? - 08/13/14 11:19 PM
Success can be yours and it can be easier than you think to achieve it.
The biggest challenge that we have found people face when they are looking to become an overnight success is that they want it to actually happen overnight. There is no such thing as an overnight success. There is always work that must be done.
The star athlete that comes out of nowhere probably put hours and hours of training in before you ever heard their name The movie star that was discovered has probably been in acting classes at school or has some small parts on … (2 comments)

growth: CIRCLE growth - 08/11/14 03:31 AM
There is always time to improve your relationships in life.
It doesn't matter if you are in a sales business, run an office, or even are a teacher in a classroom, C.I.R.C.L.E. growth can be yours easily and you will be able to see an increase in your relationships.
When asked, people will usually overstate the depth of a connection they have with others in their life. This doesn't matter if they are personal or business associations. We, as people, believe that other people will remember us, that they are thinking about us and will be there for us as needed. This statement … (0 comments)

growth: One Year - 07/30/14 09:35 PM
One year
365 days (at least 75% of the time)
52 weeks
8760 hours
525,600 minutes
You get the idea. A year can be as long or as short as you make it because it never changes on the calendar.
A year ago my life was very different as I lived someplace else, worked someplace else and had many other habits in my daily routine.
What could you do with a year?
A home can be built in less than a year Training for a marathon can be accomplished in less than a year A child can be conceived and born in … (1 comments)
