"If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford This quote from Henry Ford exemplifies the benefits of radical and out-of-the-box thinking. Ford, of course, founded Ford Motor Company and is responsible for bringing automobiles into the lives of everyday people, even though they had no idea that this was what they wanted. There won't always be one simple solution to a problem, and there won't always be someone else to make decisions for you. Sometimes you have to get a little creative! Don't be afraid to think outside the box. Your idea just may (7 comments)
motivation: Motivational Monday - Do Better
- 08/31/15 06:56 AM
"It's never too late to start over. If you weren't happy with yesterday, try something different today. Don't stay stuck. Do better."These are some wise words spoken to me by one of my very good friends in a time of need. They truly resonated with me, for until that point I honestly believed starting over was equivalent to giving up. I've since learned that redefining your goals is so much better than giving up on them. It is okay to start fresh! It can actually be extremely conducive to do things a bit different, or to try something new. You can do (1 comments)
motivation: Motivational Monday - The Grass is Greener...
- 08/29/15 12:41 AM
They say that the grass is always greener on the other side...We have a tendency to look at other people's lives through rose colored glasses. We ignore everything negative about them while downplaying everything positive about ourselves. But here's the truth: You may think the grass is greener on the other side, but if you would take the time to water your own grass, it would be just as green. Instead of fixating on others' success, start working on your own. Before you know it, you'll have the greenest, most beautiful grass you've ever seen! The grass is greener where you water it!Originally posted at: (1 comments)
Just what does it take to be successful? Of course, the idea of success is relative and varies from person to person. It’s also multi-faceted and, unfortunately, doesn’t just happen with one magical or unique method. It’s impossible to pinpoint exactly what it takes to have a successful life. However, I think it would be safe to suggest that all successful people share two common traits: 1. Persistence Persistence is the firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. Simply put, to be persistent means to never give up on what you wish to achieve. This is (1 comments)
motivation: Motivational Monday - Believe in Yourself
- 08/05/15 11:42 PM
Trying to succeed in life is difficult. There’s no sugar coating it. And as if it isn’t hard enough, it always seems as if the whole world tries to convince you that you’re incapable. The human mind, as powerful of a machine as it is, is susceptible to negativity. When you hear it enough, you’ll start to believe it yourself. Though negative comments and lack of support from others may slow you down, no one will hold you back more than your own insecurities. As the human mind is easily affected by negativity, it is also affected by positivity. That’s why self-confidence is (2 comments)
motivation: Motivational Monday - Break out of Your Comfort Zone
- 08/03/15 01:21 AM
Greatness is defined as the quality of being considerably above the normal or average. The very definition of greatness tells us that, in order to achieve it, we must do great things—we must go above and beyond. Great things never came from comfort zones. Comfort zones are, well, comfortable to us. They are familiar, safe, and reliant. Stepping out of your comfort zone may be one of your most difficult feats, but once you get over the initial fear or discomfort, you’ll thank yourself, for it is known that one great thing always leads to another. We all want to achieve greatness. We (3 comments)
motivation: Motivational Monday - Adjust Your Sails
- 07/28/15 02:46 AM
"We cannot change the direction of the wind; we can only adjust our sails." Resilience is perhaps one of the most important qualities of successful people. There are some things in life that we simply cannot change. Those who are resilient can easily bounce back from any problem unscathed, for they know that it is much easier to accept the problem and move on than it is trying to fix it.
However, we are all aware that this isn't always as easy as it seems. It can be frustrating to know that you are powerless to some circumstances. You may feel inadequate (0 comments)
motivation: Motivational Monday - Eat that Frog!
- 07/08/15 05:07 AM
Have to give a presentation? Have to deliver some bad news? Have to do something you just absolutely hate doing? Eat that frog! Okay, perhaps some explanation is in order. "Eating the frog" is a phrase that simply means getting the most difficult or tedious task out of your way. If you're anxious about a particular task, you will continue to feel that anxiety until the task is done. Therefore, it only makes sense to complete it as soon as you can! We know it won't be fun, and it probably won't be easy, but in the end, you'll realize that it was worth it--and so (1 comments)
Making a mistake is often accompanied by a feeling of embarrassment or discouragement. Mistakes show that we are flawed. And what’s so wrong with that? It’s human nature to makemistakes. Even Einstein made them. But it is important to remember that we are not defined by the mistakes we make. Mistakes prove that, while we may not completely understand how to do something, we are still trying. So keep making mistakes (keep trying!) and learn from them, because it's what we learn from our mistakes that truly defines us. Originally posted at: Lafayete Real Estate News (5 comments)
“The future depends on what you do today.” -Mahatma Gandhi
From wanting to break a bad habit to adopting a completely new lifestyle, we all set goals for ourselves to achieve. Most of the time, however, it’s easier said than done. The amount of dedication required to achieve these goals can be daunting, and repeatedly comparing our current states to our ideal states may only discourage us. However, (0 comments)
motivation: Wisdom Wednesday
- 03/31/15 11:05 AM
At the start of our day, I sent this quote to my team to remind them that the depth of their desire definitely impacts their success. The responses I got back were surprising, after their initial "WOW" wore off, they realized that their desire wasn't at the depth they needed it to be at to achieve their goals. So, they began wanting their success on a whole new level! I believe desire is the motivating factor that compels people to come up with creative solutions to be successful. When people want to succeed as desperately as they want to breathe, it (3 comments)
