Who can resist snuggling up to a sweetheart like this? She looks so innocent ... that is until she destroys only one of my favorite high heels. (thank goodness she grew out of that stage!)

A great place to visit in Central Calvert County is Battle Creek Cypress Swamp. There is a boardwalk path to walk through the protected watershed area. Also, an interesting indoor center for learning about the local animals in the area. Upstairs in the loft even has real snakes and spiders for those not too afraid to get close. It is a peaceful place to enjoy the history of the location as well as the unspoiled beauty. If you are ever passing through our little county I highly recommend this stop!

I have been pretty busy lately with work and am excited to treat the family to a fun getaway to Hershey Park. All week long, even with difficult meetings, negotiations, contracts, counters, migraines - I have been excited to go. Thinking about this made me want to remind all of my friends here on AR to take time to enjoy yourselves. Besides, in my own experience, being out of town for a quick getaway is the best way to drum up even more business. Everyone seems to want you when you are away! This month I was looking for something to do with the kids and stumbled across one of the most fun and free nights the kids and I have ever spent together. The Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, MD offer the first Friday of every month from 5-8pm free admission. This includes the museum, kids discovery room with new touch tank and fossil hunting, lighthouse tours, and boat rides on the Wm B. Tennison around Solomons Island. I thought with Valentines Day being here it would be nice to know the meaning behind some of the different colors of roses. Although red roses are beautiful it might be interesting to give someone a different color this year to match their favorite team, favorite color, have a special meaning, etc. Red - Love and Romance Pink - Grace, Elegance, Joyfulness Yellow - Joy and Friendship White - Innocence and Purity Orange - Passion and Excitement Lavendar - Enchantment, Love at First Sight What are your favorite colors to give and recieve?
