It has rained here for 10 straight days and today looks no different. Maybe by the end of today we would see a yellow thing in the sky called the sun. In any event it has certainly slowed lookers and buyers for homes!. Trying to make lemonade out of lemons, today I will sarch around for the best mushrooms for photos that have sprung up ! Land sales right now are terrible where I am. 3 years ago for every home I sold I sold 4 pieces of land. Today the ratio has turned the other way. Why? First there is the financing. Lenders do not want to lend on land. It is easy to walk away from. So they want more money down and often rates are up to a point higher. Second in so many cases it is less expensive to buy an existing home than to build. So construction loans again want more down and are interest rated higher. So why is it a … (2 comments)

NAR expects a 20 percent drop out rate for Realtors in 2008. Some of that is obviously market driven. But even in a good market the retention rate of folks making a living as Realtors is low. Lets look at it You think, I want to be a Realtor. The lady/gentlemen that sold me my house made a pile of money and he/she didn't seem that bright. They were only with me 1 day.
