Live Near Your Work Funds Exhausted
One of the best programs for Baltimore City employees is the Live Near Your Work program that gives qualified home buyers, who work for the City of Baltimore, $5,000 towards purchasing a home in the City of Baltimore.  
Baltimore City Live Near Your Work funds have been exhausted for the 2018 Fiscal Year.  So, if you work for the City of Baltimore and are thinking about buying a home you will have to wait until July 1 in order to submit their application for funds.  This means you need to delay going under contract until July 1.

In wake of many arrests and incidents involving area youth Baltimore City's Mayor, Stephanie Rawlings Blake, is preparing to sign into law a new curfew system for children under the age of 16.
Children under the age of 14 must be in by 9pm on week nights and 10pm on weekends and children aged 14 - 16 must be in by 10pm on week nights and 11 pm on weekeBnds.  Rawlings-Blake says this isn't meant to criminalize our youth but to keep them safe.

Baltimore City Requires Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Effective March 1, 2010 Baltimore City will require all homes to be equipped with carbon monoxide detectors.  The law was passed 18 months ago but was not widely publicized until now.   The law will require that there is a CO detector on all levels where there is a bedroom.
The gas is odorless and can be deadly.  Short of death, carbon monoxide can cause low birthweight, asthma and mental retardation just to name a few side effects.
