Tour The Maryland Dove for Free Until August 29 Who doesn't like tall ships? The Maryland Dove sailed into the Baltimore Inner Harbor today and will be offering free tours until August 29. The Dove is a replica of a 17th Century English trading ship that made the first expedition from England to Maryland. The replica was made over a 15 month period by Maryland resident James Richardson and it was launched in 1978. According to Sail Baltimore, the organization that brings the tall ships to Baltimore, free public tours are being offered: Saturday, August 20, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 10

Maryland Bacon Festival I don't know about you but I think almost everything is better with bacon!! So, when I read about this annual festival this morning in the Baltimore Sun I immediately added it to my calendar. The first Maryland Bacon Festival is coming to Baltimore's Inner Harbor at Rash Field on April 26 from noon to 10:00 pm sponsored by the group America Loves Bacon. The event, which will take the form of a bacon-themed block party, will include extensive bacon sampling, bacon-eating contests and bacon-cooking demonstrations in addition to live bands and a bacon-themed children's zone.
