Spring Forward - Daylight Savings Time March 12, 2023, at 2 am the clocks will spring forward one hour. Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada was the first city in the world to enact DST or daylight savings time on 1 July 1908. This was followed by Orillia, Ontario and it became commonplace around the world from around April 1916 as a way to conserve coal during wartime. Most countries abandoned DST in the years following the end of the war except Canada, The United Kingdom, France, Ireland, and the United States. In the 1970's it was re-enacted again during the energy crisis. I was curious

Fall Back - Daylight Savings Time Comes to An End November 4, 2012 at 2:00 am is the time to turn your clocks back. Be sure to turn all your devices back an hour. This is a reminder of just how many ways Daylight Saving Time affects all our time telling devices, including computers, alarm clocks, cell phones, iPads, microwaves, stoves, TVs, car clocks and the numerous watches we may own. It's not just clocks anymore. Be sure you check all your time telling devices before you set off tomorrow. And, since it's Fall it's also the time to change the batteries
