Twice a year Live Baltimore hosts a Trolley Tour event to educate would be home buyers about the home buying process and to give a few select home buyers down payment assistance grants in the amount of $5,000 each.

One of the best programs for Baltimore City employees is the Live Near Your Work program that gives qualified home buyers, who work for the City of Baltimore, $5,000 towards purchasing a home in the City of Baltimore.  
Baltimore City Live Near Your Work funds have been exhausted for the 2018 Fiscal Year.  So, if you work for the City of Baltimore and are thinking about buying a home you will have to wait until July 1 in order to submit their application for funds.  This means you need to delay going under contract until July 1.

This program helps current Housing Choice Voucher Program participants purchase homes by converting their monthly rental assistance payments to mortgage payments. 
The amount of subsidy depends on family size, income, purchase price and other factors and reflects each individual household's level of affordability.
