Okay, so I am a computer geek at heart.  Check out what I just did while driving home from 2 hours of playing soccer.  Actually, I started this before leaving my parking spot:)
Myself and my business partner both have laptops with the new Sprint Broadband connection cards.  WE both have Skype on our laptops as well, the best and cheapest way to call via the internet.

I said I would write a post about using Skype, but hadn't yet done it.  After researching and trying out almost everything out there, the best "soft phone" in the business is by Skype.  I like Vonage, but they charge you $24.99 for the unlimited plan, plus you then have to pay extra for the soft phone use.  With Skype, everything is a softphone, although you can also purchase a "skype phone" that connects up to any open wireless system.

If you are looking to save a lot of $$$ on phone bills, this post is for you.  I own my own company, but work out of my home most of the time.  My wife also works with me.  We have no home phone, just our mobile phones.    Theresa started working with me 3 months ago, but our mobile  bill has really gone up.  It was about $175 more then our average over the past few years.  So I decided to look into getting her a voice over ip account for outgoing calls when she wasn't on the go.  Here … (2 comments)

Now this is really interesting and facinating direction of mobile phones.
 
I currently use Skype for outbound calling over my broadband connection.  I will post a detailed article on that in a future post.  It saves me $$$ instead of using my mobile phone, if I am near a pc making calls to customers, etc.  And for now, Skype is free for outbound calls until the end of the year.
