Dear Unrepresented Seller, I can appreciate your desire to sell your home yourself in an attempt to save money. Lord knows we could all be a little more thrifty. I also understand that you believe that we Realtors® don't do much more than you can do yourself. So much so that you can do it yourself right? I am not a proponent of selling a home without a real estate agent or other real estate partners that are usually involved in bringing a transaction to a close (title companies, attorneys, home inpsectors, etc). But I am particularly against it when neither party has a clue. I recently sat through a discussion between to people who clearly had no idea of what to do to get a deal closed. For some reason For Sale by Owners view real estate agents as the enemy. Truth be told, we really want your home to sell. If you can sell it yourself, that's wonderful. That sense of accomplishment that you get from getting the job done. It's an awesome feeling and I know because I've done it many times. I am curious though as to why you believe you will be saving money? Or what method you use to measure that savings. I know, you think I just want to get a commission. And you are right (in part).
