So You Don't Think You Need a Home Inspection
No matter whether I am working with an investor buyer, owner occupant, first time home buyer or buyers that have purchased several homes. I am always going to encourage them to get a home inspection.
Sure you may walk through a home and on the surface, everything looks fine.  The home seemingly has been well taken care of and that may very well be the case. But how would you know if you don't get a home inspection.

Let The Buyer Find Repair Issues When They Have Their Own Home Inspection
This is something that I have often heard sellers say when I recommend that they get a home inspection prior to putting their home on the market.
Actually what they say is more like this:  Why should I pay to have a home inspection? If there are any problems, let them find out on their own.
Whether they know of any issues or not, the primary reason for their rationale is that they want to save the cost of the home inspection.

Some buyers believe that having a contractor walk through a property with them is the same as having a home inspection.  More specifically, some buyers feel that to have a trusted contractor family member or contractor friend, is far more reliable than hiring a home inspector.
