On our trip to Kauai May 10, 2008 we took so many pictures and videos of different natural scenic wonders. One of them was Waimea Canyon on Kauai - It Took My Breath Away....Literally and now I am bringing another wonderful awesome site.
The Spouting Horn is located on Lawa'i (La Va ee) Road near Poipu (Poeepoo) Beach on the island of Kauai.

The National News surely depicts an overall picture (so does NAR) of the housing market that is unrealistic. Why? How can anyone believe that this nationwide report will be the same for every state, county, city and neighborhood? It is unrealistic to report that 'nationwide' it is a beautiful market to buy or sell just as it is unrealistic to report that 'nationwide' it is a bad time to buy or sell. It depends on a wide variety of points doesn't it?

The Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii area has grown tremendously since developers starting building new homes starting from the 1990's. They are still building but since the inventory is high for resales in this area they have slowed down a little and started offering more incentives.
Located on our Southwestern shore of Oahu, the Ewa Beach area has beaches (One'ula and Ewa Beach Park), surfing spots, parks and shopping centers to accomodate the still growing community.

Transferring to a new duty station is never an easy task for the Active Duty Personnel, spouse and their dependents. Relocating to a "new land" out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is definitely going to be a geographical change. Okay, more of a geographical shock. I know. I've been in the same position many times throughout my life.

Military personnel who have relocated across the Pacific Ocean to Oahu, Hawaii are always astounded at the differences in homes once they arrive here. Okay, let's say stunned instead. I have had many military clients who were so shocked at the size of homes that they had no alternative but to store the majority of their household goods once they arrived because they brought it all. They also had a cultural shock as well with all our diverse cultural and ethnic groups. And the difference in weather conditions? Tropical paradise to say the least.

After Torrential Rains, Thunder, Lightning, Floods......... and Snow? Only in Hawaii! the weather started clearing up and I took a picture this morning of my last two orchid blooms that fared the weathered storm. Two died, the rest already bloomed.
I looked at the blooms and thought, "How simple but beautiful". No matter how positive my spirit is I get caught up in "junk" just like anyone else and need to get out and do something to clear my mind.

Whoa! Torrential rains, flooding, high surf, lightning and booming thunder! That's the way it was Saturday night on Oahu. Sleeping soundly until BOOM! And blinding light in our bedroom that startled us awake. The dog's head was under the bed. Okay. She's cool. And my heart is beating because my husband JUMPED at the BOOM!
It was still raining hard on Sunday and because of the storm we didn't get to cut down the junk in mom's valley in the back of her house. Shucks???

Breathtaking! The Ko'olau Mountain Range is not a "normal" mountain range. The western half that is seen is what is left of the Ko'olau Volcano that was destroyed in Prehistoric times. What happened was the eastern half and much of the summit caldera (feature formed during volcanic activity) slid into the Pacific Ocean.
These fragments were cast 100 miles over the northeast part of the ocean floor. History says the eruption first took place on the ocean floor 2.5 million years ago.
