honesty: If You Want to Be My Client……. - 09/22/12 06:00 AM
No matter if a short sale or not, there are still responsibilities of all involved during a real estate transaction. What’s so hard about being HONEST?   Bottom line, why lie when one has to cover their tracks and use so much energy to back up that lie?
IT ALL COMES OUT IN THE WASH!
It would be my understanding that if we travel through life with good morals, values and beliefs then it is no problem to do so in whatever career choice we choose.  There are no cutting corners in personal or business relationships.
THINKING DRIVES BEHAVIOR!

honesty: The Wild Wild Web - 01/13/10 09:53 AM
The wild, wild west was by all means an era where all was rugged with cowboys and Indians, pioneers and outlaws, gunslingers and LOTS of history. The west has been ‘tamed' and we know from history books and movies that it was surely a memorable time of a land to be conquered.
After reading a local Honolulu news article about how we advertise on the web it came to mind that it's getting harder and harder to compete against the mindset of those that believe it's a ‘world' of buyer/seller beware syndrome.  A so called ‘untamed' part of the real estate … (18 comments)

honesty: Building a Reputation Over a Lifetime - 04/07/09 05:33 PM
She packs up loads of books, pamphlets, documents and brochures for her listing appointment. Hmm...she snaps her fingers as a signal that she almost forgot something. The camera and flip video; and she grabs them and places them in her satchel as well.
Hair neatly combed and dressed in a nice pantsuit she retrieves the lint brush from the kitchen drawer and gives her pants a good go over; lest the seller take notice to the little lint balls that accumulated on the knees of her pants. Darn that Gary....he threw a wash rag in with the dark colors when doing the … (31 comments)

honesty: Stepping Over the Line of Integrity - "Can't Touch This" - 03/04/09 02:40 AM

Everything about the Lionfish says, "Don't Touch" and "Can't Touch This"! The poisonous venom is delivered from the spiky dorsal fins and can be extremely painful to humans along with symptoms of nausea and breathing difficulties; though rarely fatal.
Life throws curve balls and it seems at more times than others. Sometimes life dumps a whole was of them right in our laps. We go through life with ups and downs and all arounds.  The trick is to take each one as a learning lesson.  Regardless if it's negative or positive...there IS a learning lesson.
In our Real Estate Industry we follow our … (16 comments)

honesty: Fell in a Rut...Now What? - 10/09/08 04:43 AM

You live on the edge and you're spending all that money as you make it and live from commission check to commission check. Paying off all those monthly car bills for that brand new BMW you just had to have because everyone else had one.
Then, while all your clients were buying homes with loan programs that would put them in the red in two years you did the same. Hey, why not? Everyone is buying and everyone is keeping up with the what everyone else is doing. Coach purses and Bebe T-shirts that cost over a hundred dollars.

honesty: The Gong Show Returns! - 07/14/08 02:20 PM
I was watching a commercial for the upcoming The Gong Show...a remake (or copy) of the 1970's series. It looks way more harsh than the old one was. Now, a lot of you won't remember this show because you weren't even born yet but basically they have 'talented' (or not) people perform and if they totally were rotten then they would bang on this big old gong.
I sat and wondered what life in the Real Estate business would be like if:
I had an unruly client who kept voicing their "unwarranted and unprofessional" opinions. Can I please gong them?...and then tell them … (47 comments)

Jo-Anne Smith created a contest to write about

First of all, honesty starts with me. If I am unable to be honest with myself how can I be honest with other people?  Let me elaborate. I learned many years ago that the thoughts I had were … (71 comments)
