local area expert: A Dialogue For Every Client - 08/14/13 02:03 AM
The majority of my buyers start with emailing me from either ActiveRain (yes, I still get calls from my blogs from 2007 to present!) or my website (which by the way, is just like my blog here).  My writing is what has brought me leads. Who would have known?
If they are relocating to Hawaii and we are ‘working long distance’ via calls and emails I have already a set dialogue that is going on before they even hit Oahu, Hawaii land.  We are comparing notes and within a few month’s time, I KNOW what they are looking for. Granted, those … (5 comments)

local area expert: Real Estate “Experts” -----Detrimental or Beneficial? - 12/25/12 02:21 AM
Do you have a family member or friend who claims they know more than the REALTOR®, the Loan Officer, the Home Inspector, the Termite Inspector AND the Escrow Officer too?
There ARE pros and cons in all situations.
You may not see the benefits while Nosey Nellie is nosing around. This is the friend or relative that insists they have to be with your client through all parts of purchasing a home and whispers to your client constantly.
You may see the detrimental effects when Snooping Sam is right there giving his advice on EVERYTHING.  You slowly … (58 comments)

local area expert: Choosing PROFESSIONALS That Are NOT In Your LOCAL Area - 12/18/12 04:10 AM
Time and time again we reiterate to our clients the importance of having a REALTOR® and their own representation when buying or selling a property. We also give them sound advice about having a professional home inspector and not their friend who is a great handyman around the house.
We stress how it is crucial to make sure and choose a licensed contractor, electrician and plumber when they want to add another room to their home. Of course you have to have permits and licensed contractors!
All parts of a transaction are important with having a REALTOR®, a … (7 comments)

local area expert: I Just Bet…. A Realtor® Can Answer Many of Your Questions - 06/01/11 03:41 PM
It's just my opinion (okay, maybe a bunch of others too) but isn't it natural that we believe that the ‘expert' in the field knows better than one not? I mean, we all say that we would not let a handyman perform open heart surgery on us, right?

What's an expert anyway?
An expert is one who has worked in a particular field for a length of time and gained knowledge and experience to be considered a reliable source.   An expert is considered to be  an avid thinker and recognized for their wisdom and sound judgment in their particular area of … (20 comments)

There is nothing finer that receiving an unexpected gift from a past client. This client was actually the client that sent in a beautiful letter to our Honolulu Board of Realtors to nominate me for the Aloha Aina Realtor® Award and also a three time client within the past year and a half.

local area expert: Give Them Reason to Read Your Blog - BE the LOCAL EXPERT - 12/09/10 12:35 PM
Have you ever wondered what makes a good blog to gain readership?  In the beginning I just thought that it would be great to get a bunch of members reading my post. It was a lot of fun and darn if I didn't get a bunch of featured posts. I made friends and boy did we have a lot of fun!
Eventually my writing took a turn and I took everything I wrote to a higher level. I started to think about all the leads I was getting from my ActiveRain blog and what the topics were that they were contacting … (86 comments)
