This is a tradition that brings visitors and local residents together and includes a spectacular parade of lights show. I was reading the San Tan Sun Newspaper last night and saw an article stating that the Chandler Arizona has recently been awarded the national sustainability rating. It stated that Chandler is one of only 20 cities in the nation to achieve this certification which is based on several factors including housing affordability, energy efficiency, waste minimization, business retention and development, education opportunity and attainment, safe community, and more. The Hartford Village Neighborhood in Chandler Arizona, established in 1982, is located at the northeast corner of Hartford Street and Knox Road. Yes, I love Chandler. I live here, work here, play here and it is fabulous. So I was thrilled to see that movoto.com ranked Chandler in the top 10 and placed the city at number 4. What is also very exciting to see that Gilbert, Arizona ranked number one!! Way to go Gilbert... another one of my favorite cities to spend time. There has been much talk recently about the possibility of the Lightrail coming to Downtown Chandler from Mesa via Country Club Drive in Mesa which turns into Arizona Avenue in Chandler. The Lightrail which travels currently East and West from Phoenix through Tempe and Mesa has allowed a great way to park and ride from the East Valley to events in Phoenix such as baseball games, concerts, etc. The effort for building this lightrail system began in 2005. Every third friday, Downtown Chandler holds a spectacular art walk. This is a very popular event which includes booths from many artists around the valley with unique and very amazing art creations. Next month, they are going to be including the "Author's Walk", which will include booths from local authors to promote their books.
