facebook: To Snapchat, or Not to Snapchat for Real Estate - 02/20/15 03:13 AM
I remember several years ago when a realtor approached me about a brand new social media. She called me and said she had heard about it from a fellow real estate agent. She was wondering if we should incorporate this ‘new social media’ into her current marketing.

I looked up the website, spent some time looking around, did a little research and called her back to explain that in my opinion it was just another fad social media site and that with time it would fade away. I went on to explain that Facebook offered the same features and that … (21 comments)

facebook: How to Share Your Google+ Posts on Facebook and Twitter [QUICK] - 07/12/11 07:18 AM

Well, after less than a day, I am officially addicted to Google+. But, being the social networking addict that I am, I needed a way to share my Google+ posts on Facebook and twitter. Here is a quick way to add your Google+ posts to both Facebook and Twitter at the same time.
Create a circle and name it ‘ShareFB+Twitter’ (or anything else that you want). Go to your mobile page on Facebook and then copy/paste your personalized upload email as a new ‘connection’ in Google+ and then add that connection to your new ‘ShareFB+Twitter’ circle.

For Twitter, … (6 comments)

facebook: Invite All Facebook Friends is No longer Working | New Invite all Friends Solution Here - 12/07/10 09:13 PM

Today I went to invite all friends to a client’s Facebook page as a page suggestion and found out that the functionality doesn’t work anymore. Bummer….  It seems that Facebook has made yet another change to quash a functionality that was once useful to those of us that just do not have the time to play ‘click-the-box’ hours on end for a simple page suggestion.
Well, like anything else on the internet… where there is a will… there is a way!
After 4 days of being sick and then today trying to play catch-up with client accounts, this was … (5 comments)

facebook: How much are YOU spending on marketing? - 09/22/10 12:27 PM

How much money are you giving away to 'experts' who know nothing more than how to 'market' YOU into handing over your hard earned money?
They are charging you $$$, so they must know what they are talking about, right?
WRONG!
If a website cost you $5,000 it just MUST be good for your business, right?
WRONG!
REALITY: It's just a website that cost you $5k. The 19 yr. old 'expert' that built it doesn't know a thing about marketing. He just knew how to sell you a fancy website.
Marketing 'experts' muddy the water by using buzz words such … (2 comments)

facebook: How to Setup a WordPress Blog and Facebook Page in 10 Minutes - 08/23/10 05:38 PM
Recently I kicked off a few Boot Camps to teach social network marketing to real estate agents, mortgage brokers and small business people. Well, it turns out that we spent more weeks than we needed to (in every group) on the process of setting up WordPress blogs and Facebook business pages with FBML. So, I decided to create a free WordPress Blog and FaceBook Business page service that allows everyone to just fill in the info and have everything done for them.

The process takes just 10 minutes and is totally free to use. Even though it is free, there … (16 comments)

facebook: Facebook Account Security | Here’s Your Sign - 08/03/10 09:31 AM

Yes, I make most of my living working with Facebook. But, sometimes I just wish one of the little cyborgs would materialize in front of me so that I could smack it in the back of the head and say, ‘Seriously, WTF were you thinking?”
It used to be that to access your account from a new location you would need your access information and full birthday. That’s it. I originally thought that was stupid because there are so many people that display their full birthday on their profile and that it just wasn’t a security feature at all. So, then … (6 comments)

facebook: Follow Me! How to Add your Social Networking Buttons - 07/27/10 04:22 PM

In this post I will show you how to add your own ‘Follow Me’ buttons to several popular social networks and your blog.
Yes, the images are hosted on my site. If you would like to change that then please feel free.

facebook: 7 Reasons Your Facebook Page Needs an IMMEDIATE Face-Lift! - 07/03/10 01:59 PM

Facebook business pages are different from your personal profile. Your profile should have a picture of you and information about you. Your real estate business cannot have a personal profile. In order to be on Facebook your business must have an ‘Official Page' and can list and present everything that relates to your real estate business.

facebook: Facebook Events | Preventing Event Communication Spam - 06/24/10 12:15 PM
Did you know that when you respond to an event that you 'are not attending' that you are actually giving that event coordinator PERMISSION to continue to contact you regarding that event?
Yup that’s right! Whether you respond that you are ‘attending’ or ‘not attending’ a Facebook event, you are actually giving event coordinators permission to contact you in the future regarding that event!
So what if you do not want to attend the event and you also do not want to receive any further information about the event? Well, event coordinators are hoping that you don’t find out.

facebook: Facebook: You Must Register Your Computer. The Borg is Watching You! - 05/06/10 05:08 AM

Normally I am a Facebook enthusiast for using the social network in your online real estate marketing strategy. Lately, however, I’m starting to have some doubts.
This morning, as I was managing my client’s accounts, I had to log out of Facebook for just a moment and then log back in. That’s when I saw it; a mid-login notice to ‘Register your Computer’.  You can’t get past it (I tried). They might as well have put a notice that “resistance is futile”.
Nope, sorry, no way around it. You are not getting on Facebook unless you ‘name’ your computer.
Is … (4 comments)

facebook: Facebook: Fan Page Change… What??? - 04/27/10 01:26 PM
Recently, Facebook made changes to Fan pages which affect the way that people, brands, public figures, topics, etc. are connected as it relates to pages on Facebook. With these changes comes the introduction of Community pages and new restrictions set forth on what are now ‘Official Pages’.
(Yes, I know I wasn’t sure in my last post on the subject of ‘Official Pages’ however it’s now… well… ‘Official’)

What used to be ‘Fan Pages’ have now become ‘Official Pages’ or 'Community pages'. 'Official Pages' are now restricted to being created by authorized representatives of an entity, while 'Community … (8 comments)

facebook: How to Avoid Being Scammed on Facebook | Verifying Applications - 03/30/10 09:29 AM
Back in February I sent an email alert out to all the members of my Facebook fan pages about a scam that was proliferating across Facebook. The scam was a sneaky one. It was a message that came through in your notifications (not in your email) that stated, "Attention, your Facebook account could be deactivated. Click here to save it."
Well, when you clicked on that notification you were actually taken to a third party application called ‘Account Verification’ that carried the Facebook logo and asked for access to your account & all associated information that it required ‘to work’. It … (3 comments)
