virtual tours: Using Anchor Text in Active Rain: Video
- 01/20/09 04:45 PM
Recently, I received an email asking me how to use anchor text on an AR profile and blog. I decided to put together a quick 5 minute (actually less than that) video on how to use anchor text in your AR profile and blog.
So what is up with anchor text? Why is it so important? Anchor text tells robots and search engines what the web page you are linking to is about. It also helps with what is called relevancy. Relevancy, as far as SEO is concerned, is basically a measure of how related content on one web page is (13 comments)
virtual tours: How to Create an AWESOME Email Signature
- 12/29/08 11:52 AM
In a previous issue of our RTV eNews I had mentioned that adding a picture to your outgoing emails is a powerful way to connect with your clients. Especially if you are like me and communicate by email a large percentage of your time. People like to know that they are communicating with a ‘person' and not just a company. By including a picture in your email signature, you are turning a normally ‘anonymous' type of communication into a more personal type. But, why not take that a step further and include connections to your social network? At the very least, (12 comments)
virtual tours: Unzip My WHAT?
- 07/03/08 03:03 AM
Jason LaVanture of BlueLaVaMedia recently posted a blog, Virtual Tour Follow-up is KEY to Success. In his blog he talks about the importance of (...you guessed it) following up with your clients and customers. If your business services include the delivery of digital photos via Zip files from FTP (or if you are a real estate agent that sends zip files to homeowners), I would recommend that you add instructions on how to properly Unzip images. While many people are familiar with unzipping files, there are a few that are new to this process. So, to avoid the question "Unzip my what?" (2 comments)
virtual tours: Real Estate Marketing and the Mortgage Crisis
- 06/25/08 11:15 PM
A recent article on CNN.com, Experts Tell How to Deal with Mortgage Crisis, answers questions that millions of homeowners find themselves asking. CNN's Larry King talked with several real estate and financial experts to get advice on handling the mortgage meltdown. Another article on CNNMoney.com, New Home Sales near Historic Lows, sheds light on just how low home sales have fallen. The articles are everywhere; foreclosure rates are up, the economy is down and everyone is asking whether or not the worst is behind us.While years ago simple marketing strategies would sell a house with little to no extra effort, today's competitive (2 comments)
virtual tours: Cape Coral Arcade Virtual Tour and Website
- 04/04/08 01:09 PM
Recently, I completed a website for the Castle Gaming Kingdom in Cape Coral Florida. Being a collector of dragons, this particular website was incredibly fun to create! I had help from one of our virtual tour dealers who happens to live ALOT closer to this location than I do. Mike Fallacara of 360VTour met me at the location to prepare for the required night shoot for this Cape Coral Arcade tour. As the local Lee County virtual tour provider, he really showed off his professional skills with this tour. Take a moment to look at his work in the Castle Gaming Kingdom (0 comments)

virtual tours: Bringing it Down To 'Realty' When it Comes to Crime
- 07/19/07 07:42 AM
In this article by Realty Times http://realtytimes.com/rtcpages/20021212_virtualtour.htm , Broderick Perkins addresses two homeowner objections about 360 tours. Both objections relate to homeowner concerns of privacy. Although the article is very outdated with the popularity of 360 virtual tours (Dec 2002), these objections are still common and easily put to bed with some intelligence and solid facts.Objection number one:According to his article, homeowners give up their fourth amendment right to 'expectation of privacy' and therefore expose their home to police search (without a search warrant) if the property were to become a crime scene during the time that the virtual tour was (1 comments)
virtual tours: Video Tours EXPOSED
- 04/25/07 11:22 AM
Recently I have noticed that a lot of companies (large and small) are desperately trying to take advantage of the nuance of the video tour ‘rave' by offering slideshows disguised as ‘video tours'. It seems the Jack-in-the-box law is now in effect. ‘Virtual tour' companies are popping up all over the place offering ‘video tours' that are nothing more than glorified slide shows. Here's the deal. Pretty much anyone can start one of these supposed ‘video tour' services using slide show software for next to nothing and charge whatever they want for it. That's fine. This is America.. whatever... but why (10 comments)

virtual tours: 7 Questions That You Should Ask Every Virtual Tour Company
- 04/24/07 12:05 PM
1. What type of virtual tour do they provide? Some ‘virtual tour' companies capture only still pictures and then use these pictures to create a motion effect. Make sure you are not paying a virtual tour price for a motion slide show. There are companies that charge as much as $70-$100 for these tours and the final product is nothing more than a $20 photo presentation. 2. Is the final version of the virtual tour interactive? How do they define 'interactive'? Make sure that the final product being created looks professional and has in-tour controls. Links to the side and the bottom (5 comments)
