It's been almost 10 years since Elephant Walk restaurant, a local hotspot, closed its doors to be rebranded as Finz Restaurant when former Sandestin owner, Intrawest, decided to rebrand and reposition the restaurant for a more casual clientele. When Finz closed last fall, local restaurant owners Wayne Lewis & Tom Rice, who also own Marlin Grill at Baytowne Wharf and Jim N' Nicks's BBQ, decided to bring Elephant Walk back to Sandestin Resort. Several projects in the works are designed to make the region’s largest beach resort even more attractive. The owner of Sandestin Resort, Tom Becnel, is in the early stages of planning and designing a new 96-unit condominium and a 36-home housing development. The condo project is planned for the Osprey Point property, between the Heron Walk and Baypine Cottages communities in the lakeside area. These units are intended to be put on the market this spring. The new subdivision will be built on about 13 acres across the street from the Burnt Pine Golf Club. A possible new day pier and (0 comments)
