It seems as if more and more residents in Florida are taking advantage of county-to-county migrations. And, we are proud to announce that Broward County has ranked one of the highest county-to-county migration places in the nation. In a report recently released from the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 25,000 residents migrated from Miami-Dade into Broward County in 2011. The only counties that ranked higher throughout the United States were communities that surround Los Angeles, CA.
In turn, approximately 11,000 residents of Broward County migrated to Miami-Dade. As realtors, we are proud that we have an abundance of (0 comments)
For the last several months, archeologists have been busy uncovering evidence of a Native American village located in downtown Miami. So far, they have uncovered eight large holes which are all uniform in size and carved out of limestone. Those holes are thought to be foundation holes for Tequesta Indian dwellings, which would date back to over 2,000 years ago! Other structures have been found, and other holes as well that would mark foundations for other dwellings. Once again, foreclosures are on the rise here in both Broward and Dade counties. On a national level, foreclosures are decreasing, however in our local area they will continue to rise into 2014. Why you may ask? Governor Rick Scott signed the Foreclosure Fast Track Bill, which is aiming at moving foreclosures through the court system faster. Thankfully, this does mean that if you have an abandoned home next to you, you won’t have to wait too much longer before you get a new neighbor. Very important information regarding short sale listings was recently brought to the attention of the Tello Team. This information affects all real estate agents throughout the United States, not just those located in South Florida. Fannie Mae recently announced new requirements for all short sale listings. Starting on August 1st, 2013, all short sale listings must be in the MLS for five days, and two of those days must include a weekend. During that time period, they must maintain an “active” status.
