Sellers who chose to list their homes FOR SALE in December are making out like bandits with multiple offers for way over their asking price. This is because there is almost No Competition with other sellers being that as of today there are only 15 homes on the market for sale in December.

The common assumption or really the misconception is that home's don't sell in December, when they most certainly do!
In reality, a higher percentage of the available homes DO SELL in December than in any other month.
Nobody really wants to have their home on the market during the holiday's. Who really wants strangers coming through their home when they are preparing for Christmas and New Years Eve. This can only mean that the people who list their home in December are the ones motivated (2 comments)
Sellers often think that there is little risk in “trying a higher price, just to test the market”, rather than following their agent’s advice on a List Price. In this situation, the Seller assumes that they can “just come down in price in 2 weeks if we don’t get any offers”. They assume that they can still get the same price after 2 weeks as if they had priced it correctly in the beginning.
