hometown lenders rates: Mortgage Rates Gain Ground --

Tuesday's bond market has opened in positive territory following early stock weakness. The stock markets are reacting negatively to some earnings news with the Dow down 115 points and the Nasdaq down 28 points. The bond market is currently up 7/32, which will likely improve this morning's mortgage rates by approximately .250 of a discount point. The National Association of Realtors released March's home resale figures late this morning. As expected, resales of homes in the U.S. fell last month approximately 2%. However, this was close to forecasts. Also troubling was the median sales price that fell 7.7% during the month. … (1 comments)
