real estate: Boston Properties: The Clarendon - 07/30/14 11:59 AM
This week we continue our focus on Boston’s Back Bay with another ultra luxury development, The Clarendon.  This neighborhood has seen a recent surge in residential construction as discussed in other articles featuring the Residences at the Mardarin Oriental, the Arlington, and the proposed One Dalton Street at Christian Science Plaza.

The Clarendon went up in 2009 and has since redefined this corner block at 400 Stuart Street.  Anchored by popular restaurant Post 390, this 33-story tower is comprised of high-end rental apartments and condominium units.

Situated a mere few blocks from Copley Square and trendy Newbury Street, this … (1 comments)

real estate: Boston Properties: Back Bay’s Mandarin Oriental - 07/24/14 01:09 AM
The Mandarin Oriental transformed the Boylston Street landscape when it went up in late 2008 and brought with it a modernized sense of design and luxury to an area historically known for serving Boston’s most affluent residents.

This five-star, award-winning hotel opened to much fanfare and continues to serve as one of the premiere destinations for the elite.  With 136 rooms, 12 spacious suites and a 2,600 square foot Presidential Suite, as well as a full compliment of amenities from exquisite dining options, spa and function rooms, and connections to two boutique shopping arcades, there is no question that the … (0 comments)

Roche Bros., a family-owned business that operates 18 stores, was founded in 1952 in Roslindale and has close … (0 comments)

There’s another luxury hotel and residence coming to Boston, as the Four Seasons is opening a second location on the steps of the Christian Science Plaza in the Back Bay.  This 60-story hotel and condominium tower is set to be the city’s third tallest building when completed and will make a nice addition to its skyline neighbors, the Prudential and John Hancock towers.

Officially known as One Dalton Street, the tower will sit on the northeastern corner of the plaza, directly across from the present Sheraton Hotel.  The building itself will occupy a triangular plot, with the first 20 … (1 comments)

So “how's the market” is what you all want to know. For the most part the fall market was weaker than most would have hoped for.  The economic and political turmoil have taken a toll, but … (5 comments)
