When real estate gets slow, it's time to be innovative and creative. An agency in town is the first to host Twilight Open Houses. They are held every Wednesday evening in Cedar Rapids. They have just begun, so I haven't had time to talk with any of the agents holding these Open Houses. I'm curious as to whether or not they are very well received, given the fact that the traffic on Sunday for Open Houses has started to decline. If you do a Google search for free url real estate links, there's a plethora of free sites that will submit your URL for you. My question is: some of these sites will only be RE-SUBMITTING your URL to sites like Google and Yahoo, plus other sites that your website has not been submitted to. Is there any harm when a website re-submits your URL to say Google, when your URL has already been submitted??? … (3 comments)

The more I'm in real estate, the more important I think Branding is to your business. There is one agent in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and everywhere you look is her brand, all over billboards, print advertising, etc... I also know that branding does not come cheap. However, you can create your own brand for next to nothing. Companies like www.logoyes.com and others will help you create your own brand for next to nothing so that you can use this "image" everywhere you advertise whether it be billboards, tshirts, polos, letterhead, post cards, etc... In the news recently, there have been reports of the real estate market softening. These reports come primarily from the east and west coasts of the United States, but here in the midwest, specifically Cedar Rapids, Iowa, we have not seen that "bubble" that experts have been talking about. In fact, our market is up for the month of July by 10% over last year's sales. Has anyone else in the midwest experienced what we have been experiencing in this area of the country?
