Sales Unit sales in December were 10, unchanged from the same month last year. Sales/list price ratio in December moved up to 96.2% from 96.0% in November. Prices Median price in December was $760,000. This is up 11.8% from $680,000 in December of 2014. 3-month median price of $698,780 in December was up slightly from $661,280 in November and up a little from $644,250 in December of 2014. Price per square foot in December was $319. This is up from $314 in November but down from $330 in December of 2014. I spent the first 18 years of my life on living at 19 Elm Hill Drive in Rye Brook. In the beginning we were still part of Port Chester and in 1982 a rally was held in Crawford Park to change our section to Rye Brook. I distinctly remember hearing the chants of "Rye Brook" coming through the trees of my best friends house at the end of the street. I grew up in this amazing little town and now it's an honor to be a big boy selling real estate there! The schools were recently ranked #9 in the country by Newsweek. There is a calming energy that has always hovered over this neighborhood. Only those that live there can really understand what I mean. For me, selling in Rye Brook isn't business, it's personal!
Every year Newsweek Magazine compiles a list of the all around best high schools in America. This year, several Westchester County high schools ranked within the top 500, three within the top 50 and one in the top 10! That one is Blind Brook High School in Rye Brook. This is very exciting news to me because I grew up in Rye Brook and my four brothers and sisers attended Blind Brook High school. Rye is one of my favorite towns in Westchester, not because I grew up in neighboring Rye Brook and lived here for 4 years, but because it has so many beautiful homes and nature outlets. Whether its hiking, the beach, or shopping, Rye has it all. The Rye real estate market has always been hot and nothing has changed this spring.
