In the early 1970's Fairfax County Public Schools reached out to the local community to develop a unique program offering high school students the opportunity to learn real world vocational skills. The program, the Foundation of Applied Technical Education, Inc (FACTS) is still successful training and helping hundreds of Fairfax County High School students today. Since the start of the program the students have built 21 homes with a total value of $11.5 million dollar.
