Today has been one of those days.  I feel a bit like my friend here moving in slow motion between each task on my "to do list." The good news it isn't because there isn't a lot going on.  With multiple properties under contract the team is tracking contract dates and addendum's.  Working on a couple of new listings coming up sand on final construction drawings with the architect for Marina Landing in Belmont Bay.I suspect it is the gray skies and intermittent rain showers that are making me move in slow motion.  I helped my turtle friend across the road … (17 comments)

occoquan national wildlife refuge: 6th Annual Occoquan Bay Wildlife Refuge Fall Festival Scheduled for October 9, 2010 - 10/03/10 02:09 AM
Mark your calendars for the annual Fall Wildlife Festival at the Occoquan Bay Wlldlife Refuge in Prince William County VA.  Fun for the entire family.The Prince William County Conservation Alliance will have naturalist led tours of the refuge and a hands on opporunity for volunteers to help plant native plants to help improve the habitat at the ponds within the refugee.  For the youngsters there will be frogs, turtles and other critters on display to teach them about some of the animals that make their home in the ponds.The Raptor Conservancy will have birds of prey for you to see up … (7 comments)

occoquan national wildlife refuge: Woodbridge VA-Our Taxes Pay For Featherstone Wildlife Refuge But We Can't Use It - 10/02/10 12:18 AM
Most residents of Prince William County don't know that Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge even exists. However it does and has since 1970 when the first 164 acres with access to the Occoquan River were acquired. Now comprising 325 acres the property is still closed to the public. For reasons that no longer make sense.
With its location at the intersection of Occoquan and Potomac Rivers it would be an ideal spot for bird watching. Both Osprey and Bald Eagles nest there.
