Cal Yoder resides in beautiful Lancaster County PA photographs and writes terrific blogs about the covered bridges in his area. His posts remind me how important it is to preserve our history even if it is something as modest as a covered bridge. When I owned a home in the Shenandoah Valley of VA the Meem's Bottom Bridge was a few miles from my house. Just like one of the bridges Cal wrote about Siegrist Mill Covered Bridge, the Meems Bottom Bridge also was destroyed by floods in 1870 and 1877. It was rebuilt in 1878 and was still standing as (8 comments)
