chester: Chester Virginia Porch Activity-Picture Perfect Wednesday - 06/02/10 05:52 AM
I love birds.  Even had a couple as pets over the years.  But every Spring I have to fight with the feathery kind.  As soon as I hang my ferns on the porch, its like new construction time.  Nests, friends and family of the new tenants come by for visits, and a lot of ducking by my friends and family just to get in the door.
I try to stay on top of the situation and keep new tenants from taking over the ferns but I have lost the battle.  Now I will join forces with my stubborn, feathery neighbor and help … (1 comments)

chester: Flower Power in Chester, VA - 04/26/10 04:24 PM
Spring is definately here in Chester, VA.  If you stand still outside, you can see the pollen in the air.  Thank goodness we have had a few showers lately to help tone the pollen down a bit.
With the bad comes the beautiful.  The azaleas are in full bloom now and a joy to see.  I had to share!
Wishing all a terrific Tuesday!

chester: Picture Perfect Sunday in Chester, Virginia - 03/21/10 11:07 AM
This morning this forsythia only had buds.  Now it's almost full bloom!
I thought I'd take a quick shot of it since tomorrow we're expecting rain and I don't think the blooms will hold up under much rain and wind.
As I said, this is a forsythia bush.  They grow almost wild here in Virginia and they are quite hardy.
When I was very young, around three years old, my grandaddy, who was very ill but still enjoyed a walk around the yard with me, would point out different flowers and tell me their names. I don't remember very much about my … (2 comments)

chester: Cold in Chester, VA This Morning - 01/11/10 12:38 AM
Good Morning All!
We here in Chester, Virginia awoke to the coldest day of the season so far!  Richmond Airport, where I just happened to have been before  the sun came up, reported a low of 13 degrees!!  Yikes!
With these cold temperatures a quick stop at one of our little towns coffee shops is in order.  Or if you prefer, in the heart of Chester is a famous donut shop.  I will not say the name because the pounds will still find me if I even think of it for too long.

Well, the sun is shining brightly and the … (0 comments)

chester: Mother Nature Did Not Play Fair at My Open House Today - 07/27/08 03:36 PM
Well I held an open house today at a beautiful home in Chester.  I was pretty excited about it.  I know, I know, rarely do visitors of an open house actually buy that house.  Even so, I was still excited.  As I said, this home is truly beautiful and decorated so tastefully by the young owners.
Now I've been an agent for less than a year.  During this time, my biggest repeat "realtor" job has been doing open houses for other agents.  I've done enough now that I feel I'm actually getting good at them.  I know the drill--advertise--get the word … (4 comments)

chester: Virginia Is For Lovers & Virginia Loves Fireworks! - 07/03/08 08:06 PM
Well it's here!  July 4th.  The day we Americans celebrate the independence that our forefathers fought for.  The independence that now our many American heroes in the Armed Services fight to protect every day.
Here in Virginia there will be countless celebrations throughout the state.  Some of the more prominent celebrations will be at the big amusement parks,  Kings Dominion in Doswell and Busch Gardens in Williamsburg.
I represent homes from Richmond and surrounding areas, Chesterfield, Chester, Colonial Heights, and Petersburg. These localities have a history of great community and family celebrations year after year.

After you finish that grilled, juicy burger … (1 comments)
