The 4th of July is right around the corner; wonder where the best places to watch the fireworks in Fishers are...here's a few suggestions! Conner Prairie and the Glorious 4th is July 2, 3rd and 4th! It is more than just the nightly fireworks...although those will be held with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. This is a chance to relive how the holiday was celebrated way back in the 1800's with games, barn dancing and some great food. Up in Noblesville, the Car Show and Parade will be on Monday, July 4th. In my younger days, I would make dozens of gingerbread men cookies; I loved the smell of gingerbread….still do! I would use M & M’s for the eyes and buttons and would use frosting for their hair, smiles and shoe laces, it was very elaborate And it would take me days.

Do you remember the story of the Polar Bear Express, most recently with Tom Hanks? It is a great story filled with magic in the eyes of a child. Since 1995, the Polar Bear Express in Fishers has been making children and adults BELIEVE. The train ride begins at the Fishers Train Station where a Christmas story is told. The 6th annual Renaissance Faire is about to begin! It is this Saturday and Sunday (October 2nd and 3rd) on the grounds of Conner Prairie. It is fun day for those that love jousting, magicians, music, artists, and of course, food! There will be over 12,000 guests during the two day event! My Fishers Real Estate blog often covers Fishers market reports and great Fishers neighborhoods, but I love to share the events in Fishers Indiana too! Coming up on July 31st is the Flavor of Fishers 2010. The event runs from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. at the USA Parkway Circle; the only entrance will be via the Sallie Mae Parking Lot. Alliteration fun with the Title! The Fishers Freedom Festival is next weekend, June 26th and 27th! Can you believe this is the 22nd annual? Saxony Market opened Saturday! It is located at 131st and Olio in Fishers; open 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Each Saturday there will be live music; last Saturday music was by Special Purpose and Phillip Steven & The Open Road. There was also a bounce house for the kids. You can find find seasonal fresh vegetables and fruit, and even meat products like sausage and pork. Rita's Backyard will be there each week with beautiful flower arrangements and hanging baskets. This Fishers Real Estate Blog often covers neighborhoods and market reports, but I like to highlight events too. Flavor of Fishers will be here on August 1st from noon until 10:00 p.m. at the USA Parkway Circle. You can only enter from 106th street this year. This is a great event for residents in Fishers and surrounding areas. There will be over 30 restaurants including some of my favorites like Scotty's Brewhouse and Flemings Steak house.
