Each year the humpback whales make their migratory trip from Alaska and the frigid and nutrient rich Bearing Sea to the warm Pacific Ocean and tropical Hawaiian Islands. We are lucky enough to live in Maui half of the year, which means we have the honor of seeing these beautiful creatures during their most active time of the season. When they arive in Maui, they mate, deliver, and raise their calfs. The males are quite active putting on a display for the females. I had the opportunity to spend the Memorial Day weekend in the Tri Cities area, (Kennewick, WA),at our youngest son's baseball tournament. It was a rainy and stormy day the first day, (Friday), of the tournament. Saturday was quite different. Our first game was at a very early hour, game time at 7:50 am with an arrival time for warm ups at 7:00am! Flowers! Flowers! Flowers!! When I endure all of the April Showers... I know that May will bring lots of flowers!!!
