Recent articles are once again alarming in the REO world.  California had a huge jump in Foreclosures once again after the lifting of annual holiday moratoriums combined with Robo Signing & Mers obsticles. Just got a message from my State Senator touting the latest US Treasury backed California relief from foreclosure program that will be funded by the US Treasury for those who are unemployeed to "SAVE" their home from foreclosure....well maybe not.
To qualify for Keep Your Home's Unemployment Mortgage Assistance program, homeowners must be eligible for unemployment benefits, meet income guidelines, live in their home, and be fewer than 90 days behind on their mortgage payments.  For borrowers who have refinanced their loans, only those who did so to change the interest rate or the length of their loan are eligible; the assistance is not … (3 comments)

Many blogs are now being written about the dip in foreclosure numbers in hardest hit states like California, Florida, Arizona, and Nevada.  Problem is that sometimes the numbers do lie.  Sure the amount of properties canceled (postponed) in California have risen due to all the government intervention.  Does not mean these will not become foreclosures in the next 90-120 days?  Not from what the history I have tracked.
The thing that smacked me in the face two days ago while searching the new listings in my MLS was that of the 14 new listings, 11 were either HUD, FANNIE, or FREDDIE. … (3 comments)

Have You Tried A HAFA Yet?
This program was rolled out with much fan fair by the government and the lenders as the next best thing since sliced bread yet I have not spoken to one agent that has gotten one of these through the process yet.  In doing the math on their time line at least a few should already be listed in the MLS but I have yet to see one.
