real estate: Note to Self: Fire Your Client

I've been in real estate for nearly 18 years and you would think that by now I would know when it's time to give my client the pink slip...the boot...the see-ya-later-alligator...the ol heave ho...but, alas, I still hang on. There's always that nagging thought in the back of my head..."What if I boot these folks and then they finally decide to make the move? All that hard work...down the drain." You know you are addicted to Active Rain when you lie awake at night thinking about your next subject to write about... Don't ask me why...but for some reason I started to think about those crazy words you have to "re-write" in the little box below the comment box which is directly below someones blog... I have been collecting them over the past few months thinking there would be a day that I would have enough to write about them. There's nothing quite more humbling than realizing you're not as smart as you thought you were. I think one of the first time's I realized that was when I was on my own and had no clue on how to stop a toilet from overflowing. I was on the phone with my Dad holding a plunger in one hand and getting step by step instructions and using my foot to mop up the floor with a towel at the same time. Humbling. If you sit at work dreaming and thinking there's gotta me more than concrete sidewalks and this face paced life...then maybe it's time you find yourself again and start living the simplicity of the "rural lifestyle". It doesn't mean you have to give up your job...just give up living 10 feet away from your neighbor or starting your own garden or have that horse you've always dreamed of.
