bryan: The Historic Landmark LaSalle Hotel in Bryan TX - 04/18/08 10:39 AM
For those of you who are familiar with downtown Bryan TX, one of the features that will stand out to you is the LaSalle Hotel.  This seven-story, historic landmark hotel was built in 1928.
Recently, I was asked to play my classical style guitar for a gentleman's seventieth birthday party at the LaSalle.  So, on Sunday the beautiful sounding strings of my hand-made guitar will be echoing in the reception room for a couple of hours...should be fun!
I greatly enjoy bringing joy to other people though the ability to play the guitar that God has given to me..."HE teaches my hands..." Psalms 18:34

bryan: Take a step backward, and get......perspective! - 04/16/08 02:23 AM
Recently I was playing Table tennis with my brother Nekoda, we were having a good 'ol time, until he started beating me about as much as I was beating him!  Normally, I don't have this problem, so I took a step backward to see if I could figure out what went wrong.  Then it dawned on me...I had fixed the problem!  I fixed it by taking a literal step back from the table while I was playing.  This gave me more time to react to the spins that Nekoda was giving me.  Consequently, I started winning pretty much all of the games!

bryan: Buyers beware...Things not to do before you purchase a home - 02/21/08 09:21 AM
I have been working with a young couple that wanted to buy a house here in Bryan College Station, TX.  When they talked to the loan officer to get pre-approved, it came up that they recently bought a new car last month.  This might have been okay except that the car dealer wound up pulling their credit score over a dozen times.  As a result their credit score suffered.
The car is actually for a relative that is paying them cash, which in turn, they use to make the payment.  Unfortunately, the loan officer has to have twelve months worth of cancel … (7 comments)

bryan: Brazos Barbershoppers, spreading the "Christmas Cheer" - 12/05/07 02:55 AM
I can't even begin to imagine what it meant to the residents of the Assisted living home that we performing for, but seeing all the smiling faces as we were singing "It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas" or "Jingle bells" was great fun and very rewarding.  It was wonderful to be able to spread some "Christmas cheer" to the people that were listening.
Probably the funniest song that we sang, was "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth".  Before we sang the song, we put some black wax on our two front teeth to simulate that they were missing,  … (3 comments)

bryan: Ten phone calls per day...great advice!!! - 11/28/07 06:14 AM
Amazing what ten phone calls per day can do for your business!  Here in College Station, TX I have a great broker that challenged me to make ten phone calls per day, and that if I do that, I will have all the business that I want.
I just got though calling a guy back that had called me about a week ago on one of my listings, to see what he thought of the place.  He was not too impressed with my "As Is" listing, which was fine because he mentioned that he was interested in another house in Bryan, TX.  … (9 comments)

bryan: Patience & Persistence with people, pays! - 11/09/07 07:25 AM
I teach classical guitar lessons part time, and one thing that I have noticed is that for some students, I have to repeat myself two, three, or maybe even four different lessons for something that I am saying to sink-in. Finally if I repeat myself loud enough, often enough and long enough, it gets through to my students, and they will start remembering what they need to do differently, that is persistence! Now some of my students will start implementing what I have told them and get it the first time that I say something, that is always nice, but it … (7 comments)
