charlotte nc foreclosures: Picking A House Out Of A Line Up - 06/08/09 01:13 PM
Many buyers get their line up on available homes from poking around on the net or from a direct feed sent by their agent into their email box.
This process starts out looking intriguing for the buyer, and it is, just like a line up from America’s Most Wanted.
Eventually, the virtual feeds get too virtual. The adrenaline rush ceases to flow.
This is the time for buyers and their agent to get physically involved in the home buying process. The Internet is great as a tool, but it will never replace the human agent.

The buyer and the … (16 comments)

charlotte nc foreclosures: How Many Posts Do You Have to Write to get to 100 ? - 05/21/09 07:21 AM
Though this is my 100th official post, there were 15-20 that didn't make it out of draft mode, slashed for all the right reasons. There were some that made it out of draft mode that should have stayed drafts. But what the heck nobody read them anyway... or did they?
Well somebody has been reading my posts other than me and other AR members because my business has gone from a 25mph "school zone"  to  a 200mph lap at Lowe's Motor Speedway in the last couple months. Yeah it's spring and I expected an increase, but I wasn't really expecting this.

charlotte nc foreclosures: 15 Yard Penalty for Roughing the Passer - 05/12/09 10:21 AM
I just passed off the contract to the Listing Agent. Squeals were the result.
I listened to the puffs and waited until the diatribe settled down. Finally, I hear the the offensive squawk. How can you let your clients submit this, at this price? Are you a rookie agent?
Flag!
Unsportsmanlike  conduct. 15 yards from the spot of the foul.
Look, I'm relaying their wishes, not mine. Not everyone comes from a Vulcan mind meld factory. My job is to advise, relay, and monitor.
Unfortunately the press has it that all home owners are desperate to sell their homes. Everybody is … (18 comments)

charlotte nc foreclosures: Quail Hollow with Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson - 04/27/09 12:59 PM
Well the flashback of the Masters is back. Can Phil and Tiger do another dance like the last?
We will see. The young guns of old are now family men with new and old swashbucklers ready with their weapons to weigh in on this event.
Here's the deal: Joey is on the senior tour and Anthony is the reigning champ.
VJ, Jim and David have just as good a chance to raise the trophy. This is a tournament where everybody is in and everybody seems to have a shot.
So take a drive to Charlotte for the Quail Hollow Championship … (8 comments)

charlotte nc foreclosures: Monday Morning Ice Cream - 04/27/09 04:47 AM

I scream for ice cream. Such a wonderful fun food.
Rolling through Charlotte neighborhoods while showing late yesterday, the ice cream truck pulled up to two eagerly bouncing 6 year olds, fist clenched with means to get the ice cream. I paused and smiled.
The image of those excited little kids allowed my mind to roll back to cherished times, when my children jumped to the musical madness of the ice cream truck. And again further back when I experienced my first Eskimo pie.
I am propelled in some fashion by the excitement of pending expectations. Never knowing but hoping … (8 comments)

charlotte nc foreclosures: Sinking your teeth into Real Estate - 04/14/09 09:47 AM

Seems like yesterday, with all its frenzy, no one hesitated about sinking their teeth into real estate and stocks. Call it the last great American Land Grab...
So when the markets stumbled and tumbled, many were left feeling like they had their teeth kicked in.
We are finally at the point where it looks like the markets are stabilizing. The Charlotte market is looking better.
Minor ticks have some economists becoming optimistic. I'm an optimist, so I tend to agree. I have a problem listening to Dr. Doom repeat himself .
I'm not a dentist trying to give a … (10 comments)

charlotte nc foreclosures: Charlotte is ripe (and Right) for the pickin' - 04/03/09 02:38 PM
Home prices here are near or at the bottom. And they are ripe for the picking.

Investors are snatching up bargains here in Charlotte as they fall from the tree. They are happening in your town too. Why let investors have all the goodies.
All areas here have bargains to be found. From Lake Norman to Lake Wylie, Huntersville to Ballantyne, and Fort Mill to Matthews. Additionally the Uptown and NODA bargains are increasingly available. So you want a Myers Park Bargain? Well they are here too. But a couple of secrets...
You need a PRE-AUTHORIZATION not a "pre qualification" … (5 comments)

charlotte nc foreclosures: Scattered Pictures ...The pursuit of Art - 03/30/09 05:05 AM
After years of experimenting, without critical acclaim, I have given up on deciding picture placement in our house.
I have a scientific approach. Hers is artistic.
Mine is somewhat mathematical requiring a measuring tape, a level, and a pencil.
Hers is all eye and study with mumblings of Balance.
My empathy to all who are, or have been involved, in the picture hanging process.
I know my exposure to this process here in Charlotte, N.C. is not unique.
See, the beauty of my wife's method is that I get to hold the pictures (for long periods of time),
Until it's "just … (9 comments)

charlotte nc foreclosures: Casual Friday - 03/27/09 07:54 AM
After putting on my gorilla suit this morning I realized I had forgotten something.
what was it?
Oh yeah, this is casual Friday.
Well I'm already dressed. I know what I'll do , I'll just act very casual today.
But then that little voice sprang up in my head and told me not to casually go about my business.
This is a tough market and I have to take all of this very seriously... So seriously, that smiling is frowned upon. Good, It's raining outside. Just the damper I need.
I was getting ready to leave the house, when I thought … (13 comments)

charlotte nc foreclosures: I've fallen and I can't get up - 03/23/09 09:14 AM
Not that I need to.

I have just purchased the clapper. So when I want business to pick up or slow down I just clap on.. or clap off. I have been applauding my efforts as of late.
My modified version of the clapper is enhanced with Active Rain. So when I want people to find me or hear about things Charlotte, I just clap the keys on my keyboard and... Voila.
Now when I started in January, my skills on using my new tool were (Shall we say) pathetic.
I just reread my first post and came away frightened … (21 comments)
