Palm Beach County has been hit hard by the housing market. Foreclosures were up by 68% in November. We have a four year supply of houses on the market and the Palm Beach Post reminds us almost daily how bad our market is. All the negative talk can stall our market even longer. We dined at Samantha's in the Jupiter Shoppes this weekend. It was our first visit there although Samantha's has been around for a couple of years. I was eager to go because close friends of ours had recently dined there and raved about the place. I don't mind saying that they are quite the critics when dining out. Their reviews carry weight with us because they dine out almost nightly and have acquired a long list of restaurant recommendations in the process. They won't hesitate to give you a detailed critique along with their recommendation! Only fitting since the two names combined make up the name of our blog, Blogging Jupino. I did a little research and was surprised to learn that the name for Jupiter was the result of a little misunderstanding from a few mapmakers long ago. Most believe that the town was named after mythology. They were but it wasn't intended to be that way. I took our daughter to Go Van Gogh over the weekend for her birthday. We've been there several times and the girl's always have a great time so she thought it would be fun to take a few of her friends. She invited her friends over to the house beforehand for some homemade pizza (that's right - made it myself and it was actually pretty good) and cupcakes. I am really enjoying the ActiveRain community. I love being able to get advice from many across the nation and this is such a great way to gain a knowledge base of the real estate profession. Today my husband, who is a realtor, had someone come to view our house we have for sale. I showed them around and I loved doing it.
