palm beach county: Fortune Magazine Forecasts Population Growth in Florida
- 12/19/07 10:41 PM
Palm Beach County has been hit hard by the housing market. Foreclosures were up by 68% in November. We have a four year supply of houses on the market and the Palm Beach Post reminds us almost daily how bad our market is. All the negative talk can stall our market even longer. Well, I am here to send some positive news your way. The December issue of Fortune magazine highlights some of their best stock picks for 2008. St. Joe, a Florida based company, was listed as one of the top "Ten Strong Stocks for '08." St. Joe Co. is (3 comments)
palm beach county: Hidden Gem In Jupiter Florida
- 11/06/07 06:28 AM
Today, I was out running errands and was reminded of one of Jupiter’s hidden gems, Dune Dog Cafe. A casual cafe that reminds me of Jimmy Buffet, Key West and Margaritas. Don’t get me wrong - it is definitely a great family place. It is a place where every local has dined (embarrassed to mention if you haven’t) and a must visit for every tourist, family or friends visiting the area. If you’ve been to Jupiter, then you’ve been to the Dune Dog. The Dune Dog Cafe is tucked away off of Alt A1A in Jupiter. An open, outdoor cafe where (4 comments)
palm beach county: Jupiter Name Stumbled Upon by Mapmakers
- 10/10/07 01:33 PM
Technorati Profile I thought it would be nice to provide a little history on Jupiter and Juno Beach. Only fitting since the two names combined make up the name of our blog, Blogging Jupino. I did a little research and was surprised to learn that the name for Jupiter was the result of a little misunderstanding from a few mapmakers long ago. Most believe that the town was named after mythology. They were but it wasn't intended to be that way. Before our town was named Jupiter, it was inhabited by the Hobe Indians who lived along the banks of the (0 comments)

palm beach county: Hanging Out at Ceramics Cafe in Abacoa
- 10/03/07 02:36 AM
I took our daughter to Go Van Gogh over the weekend for her birthday. We've been there several times and the girl's always have a great time so she thought it would be fun to take a few of her friends. She invited her friends over to the house beforehand for some homemade pizza (that's right - made it myself and it was actually pretty good) and cupcakes. After all the "girl talk" and getting our groove on with the cha-cha slide we headed over to the Abacoa Towne Center where we were graciously met be Diane. Some of the girls had never been there and Diane (0 comments)

palm beach county: Juno Beach and Jupiter Housing Scorecard Reveals Higher Housing Statistics
- 09/24/07 06:58 AM
Written By Joe Quirk Today's Palm Beach Post has a detailed story on home sales in the 1st half of 2007 vs 2006. The Post routinely puts a negative slant on the real estate industry, sales, construction, prices, etc. This article is no different. What's funny about this particular story is that you don't have to look to far to see some really great "positive" news. palm beach county: Fall In Jupiter Florida
- 09/22/07 01:27 AM
I thought I would blog about something light this morning since it is Saturday. It is great to be home (and still in my pj's thank you!) and the kids are still sleeping cozily in their beds. Right now, It's all good! Today is the first day of Fall and now that I have been in Florida for seven years I have definitely come to appreciate the season. I grew up in Virginia and stayed as a willing, happy citizen up until my move here to Jupiter, Florida (Okay, okay...here it is...thirty-three years in Virginia. You can do the math and figure out the rest). I (6 comments)
